Our Universe is a weekend event–produced by the visionaries, Ryatt Flair and Bebe Demure of Dusk/Dawn Productions–that is dedicated to celebrating the art of burlesque and drag. With its initial launch in 2023, the festival makes an exciting orbital return in 2025. The popular local venue, 5 Points Music Sanctuary in Roanoke, Virginia, hosts the weekend showcases that features talented entertainers local to Southwest Virginia, as well as national and international performers.
Mission
To host a welcoming performance showcase weekend that celebrates creativity and individuality while providing spaces where Performers of Color are uplifted and amplified. To inspire and unite audiences and artists alike through educational opportunities and unique performances while highlighting the abundance of talent rooted in the Roanoke region.
Vision
Breaking down the stigmas and barriers that exist against the burlesque and drag communities through awareness, education, and exposure and to create a sustainable performance circuit in Roanoke and the surrounding region for local artists to make a living from their art.
QTBIPOC/POC and other marginalized communities feeling safer - in their hometown and abroad - because of equitable and safer space production practices.
